Jose M. Rubalcada, a dedicated and hardworking man revered for his skills as a driller of water wells and oil wells and as a welder, passed away on April 19, 2026. Born on June 5, 1951, Jose was an individual whose life was marked by passion, commitment, and a profound love for his family.
From the early days of his career, Jose took immense pride in his work, culminating in the founding and ownership of JR&L Drilling, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his craft. His hands were skilled in the rigors of drilling and welding, and his commitment to excellence was evident in every project he undertook.
Jose was a man whose personality reflected his deep love for western culture, often drawing inspiration from the rugged spirit of John Wayne and the stories that defined the Old West. This admiration was more than a hobby; it shaped a part of his character that many loved and respected. He found joy in simple pleasures, including his fondness for eggs and ham steak, and the cherished moments spent enjoying meals at Golden Corral with his sons. He would often proclaim that home-cooked food was “Deeelicious!”
A loving father and grandfather, Jose’s legacy lives on through his surviving children: daughters Joann Mendoza, Josie Rubalcada, Linda George, and Amanda George; and his son Joe Rubalcada. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Kristen Mendoza, Ryan Rubalcada, Steven Silva, and Arissa Silva, as well as his great-grandchildren, Parker Rubalcada and Vivian Rubalcada. The family was enriched by the presence of his daughters-in-law, Marquette Rubalcada, wife of Joe, and Jennifer Changa, wife of Josie. Jose also leaves behind his brothers, Billy Rubalcada and Paul Rubalcada.
He is preceded in death by his son Jonathan Rubalcada, who passed away on April 19, 2022.
Jose M. Rubalcada will be remembered not just for his professional achievements, but for his hard-working nature, his love of western legends, and the gentle strength with which he nurtured those around him. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
