Jose F. Cavazos

Jose Flores Cavazos passed from this life surrounded by his family on January 3, 2022, at the age of 89. He was born July 30, 1932, in Palo Alto, TX to Jesus Cavazos and Uvalda Flores. He married Viola Gonzales Cavazos in Lubbock, TX on May 29, 1952, and they shared 62 years together. He served in the United States Army and later spent over 50 years truck driving. Jose will be remembered for his warm hugs, dancing, his love for music and being with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Alicia Flores, Ida Cavazos, and Norma Berlanga, his sons Eloy and Thomas Cavazos, 21 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Jose is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Viola Cavazos, his sons Jose Cavazos, Jr. and Edmundo Cavazos, his grandson Joshua Guzman, and his granddaughter Amanda Moreno.
Visitation will begin Sunday, January 9 at 3:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Pena officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Edward Moreno, Donnie Briggs, Alex Briggs, Oscar Berlanga, Jr., Isaiah Berlanga, and Joe Cavazos, III.
