John Paul West, age 84, of Lamesa passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Lubbock,
Texas. Paul was born in Sarepta, LA to Ottis and Winnie West on October 20, 1933. He went to
school in Coahoma, Texas. He married Nina Rice on June 25, 1957 in Lenorah, Texas. He
graduated from Hardin-Simmons University. Paul was a Baptist and a member of Northside
Baptist Church. He worked in managerial position for Texas Electric Services for 27 years.
It pleased Paul to share his love of nature with others through fishing, bird watching, observing
wildlife and gardening. Paul was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth West; parents and
brother, Bobby West. Paul is survived by his wife, Nina West of Lamesa; son, John A. West of
San Angelo. Public viewing will be held 8am - 8pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at
Branon Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, September 27, 2018
at Coahoma Cemetery with Pastor Robert Davis officiating. Arrangements under the direction
of Ben Zapata with Guajardo Funeral Chapels of Lubbock with local arrangements by Branon
