John Robert Lira

John Robert Lira passed from this life on October 2, 2022, at the age of 54. He was born September 3, 1968, in Lubbock, TX to Gregorio and Lucia Lira. He married Christie Davila, and they shared 35 years together. John graduated from Lubbock High School and was employed at Shelby Medlock until his health declined. He was a member of the Catholic Church. John enjoyed being outside watering the grass, fixing things around the house, laughing and playing with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for being the best dad, husband, brother, and tio. John always playing around and brought joy to everyone.
John is survived by his wife Christie Davila; his daughters Alexis Lira and Mia Lira; his grandchildren Jaden, Zayven, and Jayson; his brothers and sisters Greg Lira, Ruben and Esmaralda Flores, Rose Lira, Raymond and Linda Sosa, Nancy Grunstad, Tommy Lira, Ernestine Alonzo, and Craig Lira. He is preceded in death by his parents Gregorio and Lucia Lira, and in brothers-in-law Roy Alonzo and Eric DeShawn Davila.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday, October 10th and from 9:00am to 9:00pm on Tuesday, October 11th at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 Tuesday evening.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 12th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens.
