Joe Salazar

Joe "Hoey" Salazar was born October 20, 1988 in Lubbock, Texas and passed from this life on October 4, 2025.

Joe was a hardworking and devoted single dad who never missed a day of work. His greatest joy and true love was his 16-year-old daughter, Samantha, whom he cared for deeply. He also cherished his stepdaughter, Bernice, and was a loving presence in her life. A lifelong die-hard fan of the 49'ers, football was one of the few passions that brought him joy and connection.

He was a God-fearing man who lived his faith every day and lovingly brought others to follow Christ. Known for his kind soul, he always chose love over conflict, often stepping in to calm tense moments and support those around him.

Despite facing hardship and cruelty from family, he responded with grace and continued to show them love.

In April, he was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain cancer. Though the illness progressed rapidly and brought many difficult days, his strength and spirit remained an inspiration to all who knew him. Though his time was short, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever.
