Joe Albert Garnica was born November 15, 1966 in Lubbock, Tx to Albert and Linda Garnica. Joe had one son, "Little Joe" Garnica, Jr. Joe enlisted in the United States Army after graduating from Lubbock High School and was a proud veteran and always displayed his American flag with pride. Joe was known by his family and friends by either Jody Cat, Jojo, or Yo-yo. Jojo loved listening to music, especially rock and Tejano. He would sit in his truck for hours just relaxing and enjoying his Natural Light and music, blaring out loud for all to hear. He loved spending time with his friends, especially eating egg rolls, which was a favorite of his. He enjoyed football season and watching his Dallas Cowboys. He had such a giving heart and loved helping others. He was preceded in death by his mother, Erlinda Garnica and son Joe Garnica Jr., grandparents Jose and Petra Garnica, Francisco and Guadalupe Gutierrez, uncles David, Joe, and Luis Gutierrez, and cousin David Romo. Jojo is survived by his father Albert Garnica, stepmom Esmeralda Garnica, stepdad Noe Hernandez, siblings, Jeanette Trevino, JoAnn Garnica (Mike Tole), Jennifer Diaz (Martin Diaz), Jacinta Garnica, Albert Garnica Jr, Ruben Cavazos (Elena Cavazos), niece Britney Garnica, nephews; Seth Diaz, Christopher Trevino, Joshua Deleon, Michael and Robert Cavazos, four great nephews, and 3 great nieces. Jody Cat will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26 with the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
