Feliciano “Joe” Chavez Jr., 79, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on June 9, 1941 to Jose M. Chavez Sr. and Julia (Ursua) Chavez in Rosebud, Texas. Joe was a US Army Veteran. He served in Vietnam from 1966-1968 earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 55 years, Josephine (Olguin) Chavez of Lubbock; his two sons David Chavez of Lubbock and Abel Joe (Alma) Chavez of Lubbock; four granddaughters Meaghan T. Chavez, Hannah A. Chavez, Aiyanah J. Chavez and Emma Jo Chavez; one sister Christina Gonzales; four brothers Steve Chavez, Raymond Chavez, Ruben Chavez and Guadalupe Chavez as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Jose M. Chavez Sr. and Julia Chavez; three brothers Antonio Chavez, Juan Chavez, Andres Chavez; two sisters Rosa Chavez and Alice Zuñiga.
Viewing will take place on January 4, 2021 from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and January 5, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be held on January 4, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Graveside services will take place on January 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas.
