Joaquin C. Rodriguez

Joaquin Cruz Rodriguez,81, passed away on August 4,2021 at Levelland, TX. He was the husband of Lupe Rodriguez. They married on July15, 1968 in Lubbock, TX and shared 46 years together.
He was born on August 16,1939 in Lockhart, TX to Ermogenes and Josefina Rodriguez. He attended schools at Lockhart and Ralls High School. He was employed at American Iron and Metal. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace where he worked maintenance for many years. He enjoyed watching wrestling and boxing, telling jokes, gardening when he could, and riding his mower. He will be remembered for having a good heart, opening his door to anyone needing a helping hand, and giving of what he had.
He is survived by his daughters Monica Mojica and Melissa Sanchez; 2 stepsons Eddie and Robert Cerda; 1 stepdaughter Sylvia Swerenger (Lee), 13 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters Julia Flores, Simona Rodriguez, Florentina Cavazos of Ralls, Mary Almager, Beatrice Haynes of Levelland, TX Ana Rodriguez of Slaton and Polly Perez of Lubbock,TX. Janie Ramirez of Odessa, TX ; sister-in-law Carmen Rodriguez of Levelland; two brothers Henry Rodriguez of Lubbock, TX and Domingo Rodriguez of Pampa, TX. ; and too many nieces and nephews to count.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lupe Rodriguez, son Juan Rodriguez, parents Ermogenes and Josefina Rodriguez, brother Victoriano Rodriguez and granddaughter Nicole Enriquez.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8 from 3-9 and Monday, August 9 from 9-9. The Holy Rosary will be prayed on Monday, August 9 at 7pm at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 10,2021 at 2:00pm at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with Deacon Joe Morin officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow.
