Jimmy Duane Stockton 8/17/1925-12/15/2025
Isaiah 40:31
Jim Stockton graced the world with his presence on August 17, 1952, in Lordsburg, NM, and went to be at home with the Lord, his beautiful bride, and son, December, 15, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. He was a beloved husband, father, Papa, Grandpa, uncle, cousin, and friend to all. His selfless, loving spirit has left an imprint on all who know him.
Jim married his sweetheart, George Anna Chrisman, on March 2, 1976, in Pecos, TX. They shared half a century of life together, and delighted in their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Side by side they conquered their little world and made the life they loved.
Jim spent the majority of his life in Carlsbad, NM, graduating in 1969. He took pride in his hometown and spent much of his time “cruising around” with the love of his life. They enjoyed reminiscing the good ol’ days and enjoyed each other’s company daily at their favorite restaurants.
Jim was enjoying his retirement from his many years of blue-collar work, with Haul Truck Operator at W.I.P.P., being his last. He {enjoyed-new word} his coworkers and lead well and with great integrity. He often spoke highly of his buddies through his career. From the Santa Fe railroad to Western Ag, wherever he was, he gave it is all.
Sports, the outdoors, and family were highlights in his life. He loved taking his family hunting and camping, he especially enjoyed guns. The NFL tune echoed through their home every fall and winter. There wasn’t a game he missed. Jim adored the Greenbay Packers. He also spent much of his time at soft ball fields, football fields, rodeo arenas… anywhere his family was, cheering them on. He was a constant and consistent part of their lives.
Jim leaves behind his loving children: Christy (Jeff) Beatty of Arkansas, Robyn (James) Bounds of New Mexico, Renea (Zack) Palen of Florida, and Jareaid (Amanda) Stockton of Idaho. His adored grandchildren: Heather, Stephanie, Destini, Miranda, Elizabeth, DJ, and Jason. Jim was also blessed with many great grandchildren: Samuel, Hadley, Rory, Josie, Addisynn, Gus, Liam, Eden, Hudson, and Easton, with step great grandchildren too: Shawn, Adyson, Brandon, Audrey, and Jason.
He is survived by his siblings, Marlan Stockton, Peggy Sue Davis, Patsy Long, and Julie Cluff, with numerous nephews, nieces cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, George Anna Stockton. Parents: father, Bill Stockton, mother, Alice Kimbrough, son David Coleman, and brothers Billy Stockton, and Steve Stockton.
Jim was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and carried with him the love of the Father. He was a rescuer to all, one of a kind that any and all could count on or call on at any time. He believed in people, he loved em’, and he believed in community. Losing this man here on this earth is certainly hard. There are many more stories to tell and memories to remember about Jim, but one thing is for sure… he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he soar into eternity with Jesus and be united again to his best friend. We love you, Pop!
