Jesusa Luna Flores

Jesusa L. Flores, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 24, 2020. She was born February 10, 1937 to Juan Luna and Teofila Hernandez Luna in Crystal City, Texas. She married Jose Flores on May 30, 1963 in Lubbock, Texas and they shared 56 years together. Jesusa was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where she served as a cursillista and a guadalupana. She generously shared her time as a volunteer at University Medical Center. She also enjoyed cooking, church jamaicas, sewing and listening to music. Jesusa will be remembered for always helping people, her volunteer work, and for being there for her family.

She is survived by her children Frank Reyna (Sandra), Dora Cantu, Eloy Reyna, Aida Mae Tenorio (Paul), Cynthia Garza, Annabell Garcia (Elmo), Joe Flores, Jr. (Holly); 19 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchildren.

Jesusa is preceded in death by her husband Jose Flores and her daughter Lucy Castillo.



A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 26 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be prayed Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels in Lubbock, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lubbock, TX with burial to follow at the Idalou Cemetery in Idalou, TX.
