Jesusa Martinez (Martinez) Calhoun

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jesusa M. Calhoun, 92, went to be with our heavenly Lord on August 6, 2019. Jesusa was born in Rock Springs, Tx to the late Donaciano and Petra Martinez on October 29, 1927. Jesusa was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She had the patience of job and was one of the kindest people you would ever meet. “To know her was to love her”. She loved to sing, dance, and spend time with her family. Survivors include her loving children: Olivia and husband Jesus Soliz of Big Lake, Tx; Donnie and Ester Mora of Boerne, Tx; Julia and Pedro Garcia of Lubbock, Tx; and Corina and Richard Sanchez of Fort Worth, Tx; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. we want to extend our deepest gratitude to Mrs. Q, Lashonda and Mary Jenkins with Cuidado Casero Hospice for taking such wonderful care of our beloved mother. Services will be provided by Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Visitation will begin on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Fellowship and Prayer to be recited beginning at 7:00 p.m. Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Interment services to follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery.
