Jesus Reyes Martinez

Jesus "Jessie" R. Martinez went to be with his Lord and Savior May 21, 2021 at the age of 74. He was born January 2, 1947 in La Seria, Texas to Cornelio and Maria Martinez. On August 17, 1968 Jessie married Guadalupe "Lupe" Martinez in Petersburg, Texas, and they shared 34 years together. Jessie retired from Henley Interiors as a sheetrock installer and foreman. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He enjoyed golf and his Pittsburg Steelers football. Spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughters brought him the most joy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Patricia Gonzales (Gilbert Gonzales, Jr.) and Gabriel Martinez; his grandchildren Andrea C. Villarreal, Richard D. Villarreal, Matthew I. Martinez, Julian Martinez; his great-granddaughters Elyanna Martinez and Audree Renee Martinez; and eight brothers and two sisters Max Sr., Antonio, Rudy, Ricky, David, Ramiro, Roy, Margarita, and Mary Lou.
Jessie is preceded in death by his wife Guadalupe "Lupe" Martinez, his mother Maria R. Martinez, his father Cornelio Martinez, his brother Manuel Martinez, and his sister Margarita Flores.

The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 Thursday evening May 27 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Petersburg Cemetery.
