Janie Benitez

Janie S. Benitez passed from this life on March 23, 2022 at the age of 75. She was born June 26, 1947 in Odonnell, TX to Isabel Cruz Salas and Santos Salas. In July of 1989, she married Esteban Benitez, Jr. and they shared 16 years together. Janie owned the Texas Longhorn Club and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, slot machines, and spending time with her family. Janie will be remembered for her kind, generous heart and for speaking her mind.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Rita (Lee) Rodriguez and Sandy (Miguel) Jiminez, her six grandchildren Joey, Michelle, Carol, Crystal, Ashley, and P.J. and her twelve great-grandchildren Kazabella, Mykaelah, Seriyah, Jermiah, Kaitlyn, Augustine, Izaiah, Juvianni, Marissa, Josiah, Jordan, Elijah, Alayah, and Matty Joe.
Janie is preceded in death by her husband Esteban Benitez, her parents Santos and Isabel Salas, her grandson Joe Luiz Vara - Flaco, and her three brothers Felix, Sammy, and Eliseo Salas.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 27 from 3:00 to 9:00 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00. Funeral mass will be held Monday, March 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
