IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James
Harding
June 1, 1958 – February 18, 2026
James Harding Jr., affectionately known to many as "Hippie," passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on June 1, 1958, James grew up in Goree, Texas and was a proud graduate of Goree High School. He embraced life with a spirit that was both cheerful and adventurous. After high school, James joined the United States Army. This commitment exemplified the values he held dear throughout his life.
James was most proud of his son, Dakota, who was truly the center of his universe. They shared cherished memories, particularly the summers spent riding in the truck as James fulfilled his career as a truck driver. Those journeys allowed them to see the vast beauty of the country, creating lasting bonds between father and son that transcended the miles they traveled.
James was also a beloved brother, leaving behind his siblings Laurence Harding, Ron Harding, Connie Woods, Linda Poteet, and his half sister Cynthia VanSchalkwyk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of love and adventure.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dulah and Lyndel Lambeth, and his brother Roy Don Harding, who will forever be remembered alongside him in spirit.
James Harding's journey through life was marked by the love he fostered. He will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
