Isabel Gomez

Isabel Gomez, born on November 5, 1929, in Nixon, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. She was a cherished figure in her community and a beloved matriarch to her family, who will forever hold her memories close to their hearts.

Isabel was known for her deep devotion to St. Joseph Catholic Church, a place that held great significance in her life. Each day, she would pray the rosary, a reflection of her faith and commitment. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she encountered, whether through her engaging conversations or her culinary talents. A good cook, Isabel often delighted her family and friends with her wonderful meals, reflecting her nurturing spirit and love for bringing people together.

Isabel's interests extended beyond the kitchen, as she found joy in sewing and maintaining a clean and inviting home. These hobbies allowed her to express her creativity and care for those around her, embodying the essence of a loving and industrious homemaker.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Olga G. Bela, her son, Florencio Gomez, her son-in-law, Ismael Bela, Jr., her grandsons Ruben, Mark, and Michael, and her great-grandson Luke. Isabel's legacy will also remain an integral part of her family’s life, as they share stories and memories that paint a picture of the remarkable woman she was.

Isabel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pasqual U. Gomez, who she cherished throughout their time together.

Isabel Gomez leaves behind a legacy grounded in love, faith, and community, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Isabel's life and legacy during the following services: Visitation on November 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM, both held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels located at 407 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415. The Funeral Service will take place on November 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 102 N Avenue P, Lubbock, TX 79401. Isabel will be laid to rest in a burial service that same day at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, 15602 TX-493 Loop, Woodrow, TX 79423, at 11:00 AM.
