Isaiah 41:10

Rest now mom, you fought a good fight and our Heavenly Father welcomes you home.

Hilda Santana Castro, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 2,2021 at her home in Lubbock, Texas. She was born in Hebronville, Texas in 1934, the daughter of the late Ysidro & Anita Santana. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, etc. She leaves behind 2 daughters, Sophia Rodriguez & Maria Rodela. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Jesus Castro Sr., her children Martha, Norma, Raul, Jesus Jr. & Felipe Castro, and 2 grandchildren Mark Guerrero and Baby Martinez.

Hilda taught us what love was really all about. The total giving of oneself.

One time she was asked "how can you love God and have so much faith after all you've been through and all you've lost?"

She replied " I could never be mad at God. He gave me life. He chose me. Ha gave me the ability to love, to care, to feel the good and the bad. BUT you must understand this, He is our creator and even though we don't understand what He is doing we have to trust He has our best interest at heart. I can't be mad at him for taking my children or husband because they were HIs first, He only loaned them to me. I cannot be mad at Him for wanting them back. Yes it hurts, the pain is unbearable, but I know they are in a better place waiting for me, for us to be together again. God is not cruel, He is ever loving. Don't ever get mad at HIm for not understanding what He is doing, thank Him always for what He has done."

With that we can all rest easy knowing she is in the best place possible, with her family and ever loving God in heaven.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on May 6, 2021 from 5-9pm at Guajardo Funeral Chapel. Church service at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on May 7, 2021 @ 2:00pm followed by graveside service at Resthaven Cemetery.
