Guadalupe "Lupe" Ortiz

Guadalupe "Lupe" Ortiz, 77 of Lubbock, passed away on Nov 22, 2023 at her home.

She was born on June 26th, 1946 to Francisco and Eufemia Flores in Lubbock, Texas. She met the love of her life Joe P. Ortiz and they were married on October 17, 1970. Lupe worked for Texas Workforce and was a beautician. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, going to the casino, playing bingo, spending time with her family, and cooking. She will always be remembered for her smile, her hospitality and her cooking.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Francisco and Eufemia; a sister, Linda "Chata" Flores; and a niece, Josie Masaros.

She is survived by: her husband, Joe P. Orti z; her daughter, Michelle Ortiz; her son, Chris (Naomi) Ortiz; her grandchildren, Mandi, Joey, Crispin, Tytiana; great-grandson, Luka; sisters, Connie (Ernesto) Hernandez, Julia (Joe Gonzales) Barron, Janey (Richard Parra) Brito; her brother; Raymond (Janie) Flores; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
