Guadalupe Vasquez Jr.

December 12, 1962 — November 23, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our brother, Guadalupe Vasquez, Jr., known affectionately as Lupe. While many will remember him for his remarkable achievements as a talented baseball player - his incredible feats that earned him the nickname" The Baseball King" in the local newspaper - Lupe was so much more than an athlete.
He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, father, and uncle. His quick wit, warm heart and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Whether you were fortunate enough to be his friend or family, Lupe had a way of making you feel special, always ready to share a laugh or kind word.
Lupe faced life's challenges with the same determination and courage that he displayed on the baseball diamond. Even in the face of adversity, he fought with strength, never backing down. His spirit, resilience, and grace will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind his four children, Xavier, Casimira " Cassie", Isiah, Mickela all whom he cherished and deeply loved. He is survived by his brothers, Andy and Randy Vasquez, and his sisters, Debbie Cerda, Thelma Garibay, and Rachel Mendoza. Lupe's passing is felt profoundly by his many nephews and nieces, who miss him terribly. A very special thank you to our caregivers that were sent from Heaven to care for our loving brother. Cousin Isabel Vasquez and friend Sallie Huerta. We were blessed with two beautiful angels.
He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Casimira "Marie" Ruiz, his parents, Guadalupe Sr. and Juanita Vasquez, and his aunt Shirley Reyna. Though we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever light up heaven, just as it did here with us.
Lupe may no longer walk among us, but his memory and the love he shared with us will live in our hearts. We find solace in knowing that his legacy-the lessons he taught us through his courage, kindness, and the joy he brought into our lives-will continue to guide us.
Rest in peace, Lupe. You will never be forgotten.
