Guadalupe M Valadez

Guadalupe M, Valadez, 96, beloved Father and Husband, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2019. He was born on December 12, 1922 in Donna, TX, to Pedro G. Valadez and Modesta Montalvo Valadez. He married Petra Gonzalez on October 12, 1952, in Dr. Gonzalez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. On October 13, 2012, Lupe and Petra renewed their marriage vows for their 60th Wedding Anniversary, before God, family and friends. He was a Guadalupano, Cursillista and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Lupe was a retired painter that enjoyed what he did and was proud of his work. He served as a Guadalupano for many years and was President a couple of times during his service to the church. He was known for his "lemonade and tea" that he enjoyed making for many church functions. He is survived by his wife, Petra, of almost 67 years, daughters Norma (Jerry) Trevino, Ime Valadez, Irma (Mario) Garcia and son, Guadalupe Valadez, Jr., all of Lubbock, TX., numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be at 3:00 pm and Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, both at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Thursday, October 3, 2019. Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Jim McCartney. The family would like to thank Interim Hospice's amazing staff for the outstanding care given to our Dad.
