Guadalupe E. Salinas

Guadalupe E. Salinas went to her eternal home December 23, 2020 at the age of 83. She was born April 8, 1937 to Santiago and Trinidad Elizando in Dolores, Texas. She married Raul Salinas, Sr. December 6, 1958, and they shared 52 years together. Her generous spirit began at a young age as she left school to care for her family. Her generosity continued as she served children and patients while she was employed at Methodist Hospital and Lubbock ISD as a housekeeper and cafeteria worker. She will be remembered for her big heart and willingness to always help others. Guadalupe loved family time the most and enjoyed shopping with her daughters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Norma Linda Lopez, Alma E. Escandon, Mirta Garza (Paul); her son Raul Salinas, Jr.; her siblings Ernesto Elizondo and Juan Elizondo; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband Raul Salinas, Sr., her brother Felipe Elizondo, Sr., her grandsons Christian N. Garza and Jerymi A. Garza, and her parents Santiago and Trinidad Elizondo..
Services will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be Thursday evening, December 31, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. till 9:00p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2 with Rev. Tony Placencia officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
