Guadalupe De Leon Gonzales was born in Yancy, TX on October 6, 1946 to Nieves and Manuela Gonzales who preceded him in death. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 6, 2020 at the age of 74 years. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Olivia Lira. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 48 years, Sylvia A. Gonzales; children, Gabriel E. Gonzales (Andrea), Leticia R. Escobedo, and Elizema Gonzales; brothers, Rudy and Ray Gonzales; sisters, Irma Villanueva (Avelino), Elena Gonzales and Patricia Gonzales; and three loving nephews that he spent time with, Elijah, David and Jesse; and by numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Guadalupe served his country proudly in the United States Army as Military Police. He worked as a machinist with J & B Industrial Services. He was also a longtime member of the Church. He, for many years, has been a Knight of Columbus at St. Joseph Catholic Church here in Lubbock. He also later became a Guadalupano. Visitation will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Monday, November 16 from 12p-9p, and again on Tuesday, November 17 from 9a-9p with the Holy Rosary to be recited beginning at 7:00p. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church beginning at 9:30a, with interment to be held at 2:00p in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, TX. Pallbearers for Guadalupe Gonzales will be Robert Talamantez, Rudy Rangel, Fred Morales, Mario Herdia, Sean Helnuth and Henry Castellano.
