GREGORY CASTRO

Gregory Castro, age 61 of Lubbock, passed away peacefully from this world on September 4, 2023, leaving behind a host of family and friends.  A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, October 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Spur, Texas, followed by burial in Spur Cemetery.

Greg was born on September 3, 1962, in Spur, Texas.  He moved to Lubbock in 1970, attended Monterey High School and worked in the construction business.   Greg was a gentle soul who loved music, liked to laugh and joke, and was always the life of the party.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family—his daughter Tuesdie, his son Gregory Jr. and his grandchildren, all of whom he adored —and he loved hanging out with his oldest brother and best friend, Lucio Castro, Jr.

Greg was preceded in death by a daughter, Angelica Loretta Castro, his father Lucio Castro, stepfather Pat Rodriquez, brothers Lucio Castro, Jr. and David Castro, and nephew Seth Hamilton.

He is survived by his mother Dalia Rodriquez; daughter Tuesdie Nicole Castro (granddaughters Riley Nicole Barron, Kylee Michelle Barron and Myleigh Rae Barron); son Gregory Castro, Jr. and wife Janneth (grandchildren Hailey Loredo, Alexis Ramirez, Katelynn Ramirez, Angelo Castro, Gregory Castro III and Loretta Castro), all of Bay City, Texas.

Survivors also include brothers, Frank Castro (Jessica) of Lubbock; Jeremy Rodriquez (Priscilla) and Patrick Rodriquez (Naomi) of Spur; Lupito Rodriquez and sisters, Patti Jo Rodriquez and Renee Vargas (Rene), all of Bay City.

Greg leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.  May he rest in peace with his heavenly family, and as God has promised all of His children, we will meet again some sunny day.
