Gerald "Jerry" Louis Woofter

Gerald "Jerry" "Doc" Woofter of Lubbock, Texas passed away on May 14, 2022 at the age of 81. He was born April 21, 1941 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He attended Benton Harbor Schools and was self-employed. On February 17, 2005 he married Carmela Martinez and they shared 17 years together. Jerry was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and cooking. He was outgoing and friendly and will be remembered for his sense of humor and being a great conversationalist.

Jerry is survived by his spouse Carmela Martinez "Woofter", his stepdaughter Lisa Barrera (Robert), granddaughter Victoria Gutierrez (Thomas), grandson Bobby Barrera, great-grandson Alejandro Gutierrez and great-granddaughter Phoenix Gutierrez, his son Buster Woofter, wife Tina Woofter and his grandsons Tyler and Dustin Woofter.


Visitation will be held from 3:00pm - 9:00pm on Wednesday, May 18 with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00pm; and on Thursday, May 19 from 9:00am-1:00pm at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 19 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
