Geneva R. Gonzales

Geneva Gonzales, 69, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, August 12, 2021. She was born on May 10, 1952, to Liborio and Maria F. Rios in Lubbock, TX. She married Oscar Gonzales on October 26, 1976, at St. Joseph Catholic Church and shared 44 years together. Geneva is a 1972 graduate of Lubbock High School. She was employed with ARAMark for 20+ years until falling ill in 1996. She enjoyed rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers alongside with her husband and daughters. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, bar-b-ques, playing cards, dominoes, and board games. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and heart, her infamous eyeroll, and her spunky comments.

Geneva is survived by her husband, Oscar Gonzales; her daughters, Linda (Greg) Rodriguez and MaryAlice Erevia; 5 granddaughters, Belinda (Jesus) Martinez, Miranda Cantu, Samantha Rodriquez, Mariah Erevia, Mercedes Rodriguez and 1 grandson, Fernando Rodriguez.
She is preceded in death by her father, Liborio Rios, her mother, Maria F. Rios and brother, Julian Rios.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 16 from 1:00 to 9:00 with the Holy Rosary Prayer at 7:00 pm Monday evening. Mass will be held Tuesday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
