Loving Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Friend Francisco Sanchez, 91, passed away on the morning of June 19, 2019. Francisco was born June 4, 1928 in Santa Monica, CA. He is preceded in death by his wife Christina Sanchez. Francisco is survived by daughters Mary Lou Garza of Petersburg, TX, Candy Ramirez of Tulsa, OK, Luz Gonzales of Lubbock, TX, and Santa Moreno of Lubbock, TX. Francisco is also survived by his 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Francisco was a hard worker through the entirety of his life. Francisco started working on the railroad in Mexico at the early age of 11 years old. He also worked in a printing company in Mexico where he suffered a serious hand injury and lost all of his fingers on his right hand except his thumb. Francisco did not allow his injury to slow him from work and was employed with many more jobs. He retired from a few including John Deere in Petersburg, TX and a dairy in Midland, TX. Francisco also worked as a Luchador in his younger years and went by the name of El Moritas because of his love of blueberries. Francisco enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh and smile. He also enjoyed watching sports and especially loved boxing and rooting for Texas Tech his favorite college team. Francisco lived a long and joyous life, and was always surrounded by friends and family who loved and adored him. Francisco will be missed by all who knew him, but will always remain in the hearts and minds of those who had the privilege to know and love him. A viewing for Francisco will be held Thursday, June 20 from 5 PM to 9 PM at Guajardo Funeral Chapels located at 407 N. University in Lubbock, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 21 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
