Francisca Gaona Lopez was born August 23, 1932, in San Benito, Texas to the late Elias and Tirsa Gaona.
She migrated to Lubbock, Texas as a migrant worker in the late 1940’s from Lyford, Texas.
She was incredibly skilled at hand picking cotton as a young lady and took great pride in being able to pick as much as 1,200 pounds in a single day. Around 1997 she moved to Petersburg, Tx where she lived since.
Family and friends knew her as Pancha, Panchita or Oiga.
She was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ; she loved reading her Bible each night before going to sleep.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Raul Lopez, grandson Rene Lopez and siblings Nicolas Gaona, Elias Gaona II, Heriberto Gaona, Tomas Gaona, Maria Belen Pacheco and Josefina Aparicio.
Survivors include her daughter Rosa Marroquin from Petersburg, Texas, Dalia Lopez from Lubbock, Texas, a brother Pedro Gaona from Lubbock, Texas and her pride and joy grandchildren Roman (Vicky) Lopez, Veronica (Michael) Lopez, Krystal (John) Cardenas, Jose (Courtney) Perez, Yovahn (Eleonora) Marroquin, Jesse Ovalle (Brenda) and Chris (Tori) Ovalle plus 24 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Roman López, José Pérez, Yovahn Marroquin, Salome López, Joe Lopez, Domonic Lopez, Marcos Lopez, and Brandon Luera Jr.
