Florentina DeLira

Florentina DeLira (née Zapata), born on June 20, 1934, peacefully passed away in her sleep on May 20, 2026. She lived a life filled with devotion, love, and cherished connections, leaving behind a legacy defined by family and faith.

Florentina was a woman of deep commitment to her church community, finding joy and purpose in her involvement there. A nurturing soul, she took great pleasure in cooking for her family. Her warm heart extended beyond the kitchen; she delighted in the simple pleasures of life, including frequent visits to thrift shops and spending precious moments at the park with her granddaughter. Time shared with her sister was especially meaningful to her.

Her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Delia Acebedo, and her son, Ricky Rodriguez, along with Delia’s husband, Armando, and Ricky’s wife, Lucy. Her family legacy continues with four devoted granddaughters—Alyssa, Raquel, Rebecca, and Paloma—and cherished great-grandchildren who will carry Florentina’s memory forward.

Florentina experienced significant losses in her lifetime, including the passing of her son, Juan Rodriguez; her sister, Felipa Ochoa; her brother, Pedro Zapata; as well as her first husband, Raymond Rodriguez, and her second husband, Sixto Delira. Despite these hardships, her resilience and love for her family never waned.

Florentina DeLira’s life was a tapestry woven with faith, family, and kindness. Her gentle spirit, her dedication to those she loved, and her vibrant personality touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered with profound respect and affection by her family and friends, whose lives she enriched so deeply.
