Feliciana Mendoza, lovingly known to many as Chana, was born on June 9, 1941, in Slaton, Texas. She passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.

Chana dedicated her life to her family and her career, serving as the Head Cook at Tubbs Elementary for 30 years, where she was known not only for her incredible meals but also for the nourishment she provided to the spirits of those around her. Her culinary skills were remarkable, reflecting her passion for feeding not just the stomachs but also the hearts of her loved ones.

Throughout her life, Feliciana cultivated rich summer memories, including adventurous trips on the Greyhound Bus to New Mexico, each journey a testament to her vibrant spirit. Known for always needing her newspaper by her side, she embraced the world around her with curiosity and joy.

Chana’s personality radiated warmth and strength as she raised her children and grandchildren with a unique blend of tough love and unyielding support. Her friends and family will fondly remember her dedication not only to her cooking and baking but also to her hobbies, which included knitting, completing crossword puzzles, and enjoying classic shows like "Little House on the Prairie" and "The Waltons," alongside her beloved Novelas. She also proudly served as the family beautician, always ensuring her loved ones felt their best.

Among her proudest accomplishments was her role as a Soldier of God for the Salvation Army, a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment to helping others.

Feliciana is survived by her beloved children: Marylou Zerrate (Amo), Gracie Vasquez (Eloy), Rosalinda Jimenez (Daniel), Ricky Mendoza (Josie), Antonio Googs Mendoza, Vanessa Mendoza (Adam), and Kimberly Jade Garcia. She is also survived by her sisters, Marie Marin and Linda Cisneros (Raul), her brother Rudy Delgaldo, 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory for generations to come.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Mendoza; her son, Jesse Mendoza; and her great granddaughter, Alexandra Navaeh Pena.

Feliciana Mendoza will be remembered for her unwavering love, her comforting presence, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of all who knew her. A funeral service will be held to honor her memory on August 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, located at 407 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX. The family looks forward to gathering to celebrate her life and the cherished moments they shared.
