Ester Martinez

Ester Martinez, 75, of Lubbock went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 14, 2022. She was born April 15, 1946 in Mathis, Texas to Jose and Maria Mata. Ester grew up in Lubbock and lived here all of her life. She married the love of her life Jesus Martinez on November 15, 1959. Ester was a homemaker, and she was a devoted family wife and loved to attend church where she was a very active and dedicated member.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Velma Valdez and husband Victor, Ronnie Martinez and fiance Susan, Jaye Martinez, and Gabriel Martinez and wife Christina, all of Lubbock; sister Juanita Soliz from Houston; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Jesus Martinez, her mother Maria Mata, her father Jose Mata, and two sisters, Inez Espinoza and Abelina Salazar.

Visitation for our beloved Ester will be on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. with a service immediately following at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at The Worship Center (TWC) 7116 82nd St, Lubbock with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
