Esperanza Flores

Esperanza De La Cerda Flores passed from this life on January 24, 2022 at the age of 82.  She was born January 14, 1940 in Edroy, Texas to Natividad Sr. and Maria De La Cerda.  She married Porfirio Flores April 16, 1966 and they shared 55 years together.  Esperanza was a devoted housewife and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She will be remembered for the love she had for her family and her faith in the Lord.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to garage sales, and spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Porfirio Flores, her children Anthony Flores (Crystal), Johnny Flores, Rene Flores, Teresa Flores Jones, Mary Salinas (Billy), and Guadalupe Flores (Maria), her 22 grandchildren, and her 13 great-grandchildren.

Esperanza is preceded in death by her parents Natividad De La Cerda Sr. and Maria Castro De La Cerda, her sisters Olivia Hernandez and Socorro Olivarez, her brother Astro Berto De La Cerda, and her granddaughter Heather Nicole Flores.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 31 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 1 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Deacon Santos officiating.  Burial will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
