Ernestina Morado, 66, passed away on September 18, 2020 at home. She was the wife of Juan Vargas for over 27 years until his death. She had since found her beloved Felipe Esparza to enjoy life with. Ernestina was born on August 22, 1954 in Gail, TX to Guadalupe and Alicia Morado. She was employed at Lubbock Supported Living Center. She enjoyed going on trips, gardening and spending time with grandkids. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart, her goofiness and her cooking. She is survived by eight children, Marcella Vargas, San Juana Vargas Jr., Porfirio Vargas, Maria E. Vargas, Maria Glena Vargas, Guadalupe Vargas and Ernestina Vargas all of Lubbock, and Moneque Vargas of Philadelphia; 31 grandchildren, two great grandkids, and by six brothers and nine sisters; Maria Barrientos of Plano, TX, Alma Sierra of Baytown, TX, Nancy Olvera of Florida, Dora Dragula of Florida, George Morado of O’Donnell, TX, Linda Martinez of California, Arthur Morado of O’Donnell, TX, Teresa Morado of Floresville, TX, Phillis Whitehead of Dallas, TX, Felipe Sandoval of Duncanville, TX, Billy Zamora of Floydada, TX, Mona Jeffers of Duncanville, TX, Pedro Morado of Tahoka, TX, Kathy Gomez of Dallas, TX and Miguel Morado of Tahoka, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alicia and Guadalupe Morado; son, Felipe Vargas; brother Lupe Morado Jr. and grandson, Espividion. Visitation will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on September 22, 2020 from 2-9pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 10:00am at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, with Deacon Santos Chavez officiating. Interment will follow in the Abernathy City Cemetery.
