Elvira Vasquez

Elvira Sanchez Vasquez, 81, passed away March 16, 2020. She was born February 22, 1939, in Karnes City to Antonio and Rosauda Sanchez. Elvira married Joe Vasquez on May 17, 1957, in Sinton, Texas, and they shared 59 years together.

Elvira was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church and a Guadalupana. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing, camping, spending time with all of her family, and praying her rosary. Elvira will be remembered for her family values, generosity, ability to forgive, and being a strong woman of God.

She is survived by her children, Janie Valdez of Wilson, Juan Vasquez of Wilson, Elvira Chavera of Wilson, Petra Vasquez of Wilson, Albert Vasquez of Wilson, Jennifer Vasquez of Slaton, 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Elvira is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Vasquez, and her son, Fred Vasquez.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, 2020, at 3:00p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Wilson, Texas with burial to follow at Green Memorial Park.

Viewing is scheduled for March 21 and 22 from 3:00-9:00p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
