Delfino Cruz, Jr. passed from this life on December 22, 2021, at the age of 63. He was born November 3, 1958, in Lockhart to Delfino and Carmen Cruz. On July 22, 1977, he married Christina, and they shared 44 years together. He was a graduate of Lubbock High School and worked for 21 years at Sodexo in maintenance at Coronado High School. He attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Delfino enjoyed spending time with his family, attending all his children's and grandchildren's extracurricular activities. He enjoyed camping and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He will be remembered for his big heart, his love for his family, and especially his love for his Babe. He was funny, loved to dance, and would make up silly songs and nicknames.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Christina Cruz, three daughters Carmen Cruz (Thomas), Carolina Jaramillo, Crystal Cruz (Julian), nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sisters Mary Helen, Jase, Virginia, and Ernestine, and brothers George and Noe.
Delfino is preceded in death by his parents Delfino and Carmen Cruz, his brother Gabriel Cruz, his sisters Cecilia Rivero and Maria Cruz.
Pallbearers will include David Cruz, Nicholaus Paez, Ray Mojica, Jr., Jayson Jaramillo, Jaquin Sonia, and Julian Olivarez. Honorary pallbearers will include Seth Olivares and Ethan Cruz Vasquez.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 30 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary Prayer at 7:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
The funeral mass will be held Friday, December 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Father Rudy Crasta officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
