David P. Marquez

David P Marquez Sr passed from this life on February 20, 2025 surrounded by his wife, daughter, two sons and his grandchildren.

He was the (husband of) Linda J Marquez. They married April 22nd 1972 and s h a r e d 52 years together. He was born April 3, 1954 to

Hilaria Ramirez and Cleto Marquez Sr in Rosebud Tx

He was a life long resident of Petersburg where he attended Petersburg until the 7th grade  he then began to help raise his siblings.

He was employed at Wylie Mfg for 35 years and worked as foremen and welder.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play sports.

He will be remembered for that contagious smile, treating everyone like his own, working outside, carpentry, barbecuing and always joking around. David was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and made sure that every Sunday he watch the game.

He is survived by his wife Linda. Sons David (Angelica) Marquez of Crosbyton , Rudy (Melissa) Marquez of Lubbock, daughter Debbie (Patrick) Shellman of Lubbock. 11 grandchildren Eathan, Kiana, Santos, Kaden, Gavin, Dayln, Miah, Gracelyn, Peyton, Nikko and Gaby and 6 great grandchildren.

His three brothers Jesse (Susie) Marquez of Petersburg, Cleto (Anita) of Crosbyton, Noel (Beri) of Texas City

One sister Carmen (John) Rodriguez of Petersburg.

He  is preceded in death  by his mother Hilaria Ramirez, father Cleto Marquez Sr and his brothers Willie, Benny and Jimmy Marquez and John, Esmeralda and Ruben Leija.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-9:00pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, with a Holy Rosary beginning at 5:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00pm on Monday February 24, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg, Texas.

Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery.
