David Serna

Joe David Serna, 72, passed away from this life on May 28th, 2024 at University Medical Center.

He was born December 22nd, 1951 in Refugio, Texas to Margarito and Consuelo (Villarreal) Serna. He married Norma Serna on July 2nd, 1977 in Lubbock, Texas and shared 47 years together.

He attended Refugio High and went to the TDCJ Academy. He was employed by Texas Instruments for 21 years, then was employed by TDCJ until his retirement. He enjoyed football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and playing music. He will be remembered for loving his family, and telling his jokes.

He is survived: by his wife, Norma Serna; his children, Jody Serna and wife Unique, Jason Serna and Ashley Flores; his sister, Margie Head; and nine grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his sister Esther Vega.

Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-9:00pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with a Rosary beginning at 7:00pm.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
