David Cecil Pittman

David C. Pittman passed from this life on February 28, 2023 at the age of 53. He was born February 3, 1970 in Petersburg Texas to Coy C. and Virginia Pittman. He was a member of the Church of Christ. David was a kind man who was always ready to help anyone in need. He enjoyed watching his parents fight fires as they were in the Woodrow Fire Department. He later followed in his parents' footsteps as a volunteer fireman for the Merit, TX Fire Department. He loved to ride the 4-wheeler and go to the Lady Lucky Speedway in Lubbock to see his stepdad Inda Acosta Jr. racing cars.
David is survived by his mother Virginia Martinez Acosta, his stepdad Inda Acosta Sr. of Ropesville,TX, his siblings Inda Acosta Jr. and Patricia Acosta of Ropesville, Jennifer Acosta of Shallowater, Victoria Acosta, Veronica Acosta, and Rosa Linda Acosta of Lubbock, and Maria and Patricia Pittman of Greenville, TX. He is preceded in death by his father Coy Pittman and his grandparents Juan and Adela Martinez.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with Pastor Rudy Martinez officiating. Interment will follow in the Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, TX. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 5 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.
