David Garcia

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Castillo Garcia, born on February 27, 1963. He passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023 in Lubbock, TX.

David was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a self-employed journeyman electrician who attended Lubbock High School, where he played football, baseball, and soccer. He also attended Texas Tech University and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church.

David was a man of many talents. He enjoyed singing with his band and playing slow pitch softball when he was younger. As he got older he loved to go golfing with his son, play pool, and hangout with his grandkids.

David was a man of great strength and spirit. He was a kind and giving person who never gave up. His love touched every person who was lucky enough to meet him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his mother, Sara Garcia; his father, Manuel Garcia Jr.; his sons, David Garcia and Justin Garcia; his daughter, Angelica Kyle; his grandsons, Evan Garcia and Preston Garcia; and his granddaughter, Emilia Kyle. Brothers: Albert, Ernest , Joe and Oscar Garcia.

Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 9th, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

David will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
