David Conway

David Wayne Conway, age 74, passed from this life on March 18, 2025 in Lubbock, TX. He was the husband and best friend of Vicky Conway. They met in early 1991 and after proposing numerous times throughout the years, Vicky finally said yes. They were married on January 4, 2002 and shared 34 years together.

David was born March 9, 1951 in Tahoka, TX to C.W. and Margie Conway. He graduated from Littlefield High School and went on to take classes at Texas Tech. From there, he attended and graduated from South Plains College with an Associate Degree in Computer Technology.

David worked at the US Postal Service in Lubbock for 30 years and was a Training Technician for most of his career. You could give him the name of a city in Texas and he could tell you the zip code without any hesitation.

David was an avid reader and had a very extensive collection of books. As a matter of fact, David’s collection qualified as a ‘library’ because of the amount of books he owned.

David will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor and sarcasm, a wonderful work ethic, and his very generous nature. He had a way of knowing when someone needed help and was quick to lend a hand or give support.

David is survived by his wife, Vicky Conway; his daughters, Dawn Handley (Jim) and Tamara Dial; his sons, Rusty Dial (Ruthie) and Dusty Dial (Laura); his brother,Gary Conway; grandchildren DaLynne, Adam Wayne, Chelsea, Chris, Tyler, Kristian, Briana, Rachel, Rielyn; 17 great-grandchildren And numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, C.W. Conway; his mother, Margie Conway; and his daughter, Nichole Weatherwax.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00pm at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, 407 N. University Ave., Lubbock, TX, 79415. Services will be officiated by Jamie Braly.
