David Olivas Anaya, 75, of Lubbock, Texas passed away at home on September 23, 2025 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lamesa, Texas on September 21, 1950 to Eusebio L. Anaya and Agricola Olivas Anaya. He married Mary Lou Herrera on July 10, 1974 in Lubbock, Texas. They shared 51 years together.
David was a man of all trades working at various construction companies throughout his career. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing to anyone willing to lend and ear. He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech Red Raiders.
He leaves behind his Mary Lou, his children Mario and Amy Anaya of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren; Maegan Anaya, Jared Anaya, Brianna Anaya, Jordan Dickerson and Jayden Frye; three brothers; Ramon Anaya (Carolina), JR Anaya (Becky), Jesse Anaya (Julie) all of Lubbock, Texas.
He was preceded in death by five brothers; Toby Anaya, Eusebio Anaya, Pedro Anaya, Reynaldo Anaya and Larry Anaya, four sisters; Irene Flores, Lupe Valencia, Petra Valencia and Araseli Valencia.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all the Covenant Nurses and staff that cared for him along away. Also, the countless family and friends that offered their prayers and support. David is no longer suffering he is at peace with God.
