Daniel Herrera "Danny Boy" passed from this life while in his wife's arms and surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the age of 51. He was born August 22 in Lubbock, TX to parents Inez and Felix Herrera. He married Rita Herrera on April 4 in Anton at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, and they shared many wonderful years together. Danny attended Wolfforth Elementary, Matthews Jr. High, Junction City High School, and Kansas State. He was a chef at the Texas Tech Club, and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church where he served as a teacher, mentor, and cook for the youth. He loved Anton Bulldog Football, Lady Dawg Basketball, Little Dribblers and was a member of the Anton Athletic Booster Club. Danny enjoyed watching all football all day, every day and loved his Dallas Cowboys. An avid sports fan, Danny loved all sports at all levels; however, his best moments were rooting with his wife for their girls in all their academic and athletic events.
Danny will be remembered for his amazing four course meals which included appetizers, desserts, fruit displays, ribs, brisket, omelets, seafood, and BBQ. Anyone who crossed his path left with a smile and a laugh. His laugh was contagious, and it will be remembered always. He had a great love for his children. No matter what they did, he was always their biggest fan supporting them in every way.
Danny is survived by many loved ones who all cherish their memories with him. He will be welcomed to heaven with hugs and lots of love from his beloved grandma and grandpa, his sisters, many friends, and our Lord and Savior.
