Dakota Lynn Denison, affectionately known as "Cody," was born on June 21, 1970, in Clovis, New Mexico. He passed away on August 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by his extraordinary skills as a mechanic and his deep commitment to family.
Cody was not just a remarkable mechanic; he was the proud owner of D & R Auto Service, where his expertise in the automotive field made him a well-respected figure among his peers and clients alike. His great knowledge allowed him to tackle challenges that others found daunting, and his keen intellect meant that he was always eager to understand and assist those around him. He will be remembered not just for his talents, but for the stories he shared, showcasing a generous spirit and a humorous demeanor that endeared him to many.
He shared 40 years of life and 36 joyous years of marriage with his beloved wife, Rhenae Denison. Together, they navigated the ups and downs of life, supporting one another through laughter, tears, and everything in between. Their bond was a testament to the love and dedication they had for each other.
As a father, Cody was a caring protector, cherished by his children: Dakota Wayne Denison, and his wife Bianca Denison; Jonathan Denison, and his wife Melyssa Denison; and daughter Megan Nachelle Denison, who is married to Ben Hernandez. His profound love for his family extended to his grandchildren, with whom he created countless joyful moments. He was immensely proud of them and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his family, Cody held a special fondness for animals, particularly dogs, cats, and birds. He was also a passionate knife collector, indulging in hobbies that reflected both his character and interests.
Cody leaves behind a legacy marked by his compassion, work ethic, and unwavering love for his family. He was the only boy amongst seven sisters, a role that only added to the depth of his character and the fond memories that will be cherished by those fortunate enough to know him. Cody will be remembered daily, not only as a talented mechanic and storyteller but as a genuinely good husband, father, and protector. His spirit will live on in the hearts of many, and he will be greatly missed.
He is predeceased by his parents, Lehman and Eva Lynn Denison, and his grandson, Alex Jay Rodriguez.
A family gathering will be planned for a later date to remember and celebrate the wonderful life of Dakota Lynn Denison.
