Charlie Landin

Charlie Landin of Lubbock went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 21, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 85.  He was born July 27, 1936, in Lockhart to Carlos Landin and Paula Rangel Landin.  He was the second oldest of 10 siblings. He met and married the love of his life, Dolores Guerra, on June 16, 1957, at the Catholic Church in Martindale, Tx. They were happily married until her passing in the summer of 1969.

Charlie was a member of the San Lorenzo Catholic Church, in Lorenzo, and a member of the Sacred Heart. He was a farmer, a mechanic, and truck driver.  He loved wearing western clothes, boots, and hats.   He loved horses, enjoyed watching western movies, going to, and watching wrestling matches, going to the theater movies and the hamburger stands and you had to always make sure he had a coke to go with every meal.  He loved returning to his old stomping grounds in Lockhart and eating at his favorite market, Smitty’s, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife Dolores Guerra Landin, son Joe Landin, siblings Manuela Proa, Mary Martinez, Israel Landin, and Victor Landin.

He is survived by his children Irene Landin of Lubbock, David Landin (Norma) of Kyle, Martina Morales of Wolfforth, Josie Flores (Oscar) of Grand Prairie, Charlene Chumacero of Greeley, Colorado, Jeff Landin and Jason Landin of Lorenzo, Noah Landin and Charlie Landin of Lubbock, Rebecca Landin of Chattanooga, Tennessee.  18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.   Sisters Lucy DeLeon, Dora Chavez, Gloria Cisneros all of Lorenzo.  Brothers Armando Landin of New Braunfels, and Juan Landin of Seguin and numerous nieces and nephews who cared and loved him very much.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 28 from 5:00 to 9:00 with the Holy Rosary at 7:00.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29 at 1:00 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with burial to follow in Lorenzo.
