Cecilia Garcia, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, in Ralls, Texas, at the age of 97. Born on November 22, 1928, in Brady, Texas, Cecilia was a remarkable woman whose strength, creativity, and unwavering faith left a profound impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cecilia dedicated a significant part of her career to Texas Tech University, working in the cafeteria for ten cherished years. Her loving spirit resonated in every interaction, as she nurtured the community with her caring attitude and delightful cooking. Cecilia was especially known for her culinary talents, expertly crafting sweets that brought joy to her family and friends, including cookies, buñuelos, empanadas, and pan flojo. Her kitchen was a haven of love, where delicious aromas mingled with laughter, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Cecilia was not just a devoted employee; she was a woman of many passions. Gardening, sewing, and scrapbooking filled her days, allowing her to express her creativity and love for beauty. Her strong, feisty, and sassy personality made her a vibrant presence, one that was cherished by all who crossed her path. She was an honest and loving soul, a true believer in her Lord and Savior, whose faith inspired everyone around her.

Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her family—her three wonderful sons, Richard (Emma) Garcia Jr., Mario (Irma) Garcia, and Israel (Lori) Garcia. She held a deep love for her family, which extended to her sisters, Esther Pena and brother Margarito Gloria. Cecilia's legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will remember her for the profound love and joy she brought into their lives.

Cecilia is reunited in spirit with her loving husband of 67 years, Richard Garcia Sr., along with numerous other relatives who have gone before her. Their love endures as a testament to the life they built together.

Friends and family are invited to honor Cecilia's memory during the visitation service at Guajardo Funeral Chapels in Lubbock, Texas, on December 17, 2025, from 3 PM to 9 PM, and again on December 18, 2025, from 9 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will also be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on December 18, 2025, at 2 PM, followed by her burial at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow, Texas, at 3 PM.
