Carmen Badillo

Carmen Badillo, a devoted homemaker and cherished family member, passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on March 1, 1945, Carmen was a resident of Lubbock, Texas, where she was known for her warm spirit and love for her family.

Carmen dedicated her life to raising her children and creating a nurturing home. Her pride in her family was evident; she is survived by her husband, Thomas Badillo, her daughter Sylvia Mejia, her son Thomas Badillo Jr., her daughter Rosa Badillo, her daughter Mary Helen Rodriguez, and her son Danny Badillo and her siblings, Edward, Maria, Patricio, Benny, Daniel Villareal, Petra Villalobes, Jesse, Angelina and Johnny Quiroz. Additionally, Carmen was a beloved grandmother to 13 grandchildren, a great-grandmother to 29 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandmother to 5 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love will continue through them.

Carmen's personality shone through in her approach to life. She lived life to the fullest, filling her days with joy, laughter, and meaningful moments with her family. She found great pleasure in playing Bingo, dancing, and sharing her daily morning coffee with her husband, Thomas. Family gatherings brought her immense happiness, showcasing her deep appreciation for the bonds she cherished.

Carmen's life was marked not only by her joys but also by her experiences of loss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernadino Villareal and Eulalia M Quiroz, her daughters Melissa Jean Mejia and Rosalinda Badillo, her sister Lucy Morales, her grandson Gabriel Villareal, and her brother Inocencio (Chenco) Villareal.

Visitation will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels in Lubbock, Texas, on May 14, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will take place the following day, May 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow.

Carmen Badillo leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, a testament to a life well-lived and the profound impact she had on her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
