Candelario Leyva Hernandez, 65, passed away April 18, 2020, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born October 17, 1954, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila to Manuel and Anita Leyva. He was a concrete finisher his whole life. He loved to go to church and enjoyed listening to and singing Christian music. He will be remembered for being a loving father, a lovable abuelito, a caring father-in-law, and a good friend to the people who knew him.
Candelario is survived by his children Candelario Leyva, Jr. of Lubbock, TX, Pablo and Alma Leyva of San Benito, TX, Elizabeth and Ramiro Garza of Harlingen, TX, Manuel and Amy Leyva of Lubbock, TX; 9 grandchildren; his brothers Felipe and wife Esperanza Leyva of Lubbock, TX, Pablo and wife Connie Leyva of Lubbock, TX, and Manuel Leyva, Jr. of Peidras Negras, Coahuila; his sisters Elida Leyva, Leticia Leyva and Morayda Leva all of Piedras Negras and Erica Leyva of Ft. Worth, TX; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Candelario was preceded in death by his grandfather Candelario Leyva, his father Manuel Leyva, his mother Anita Hernandez Leyva, and his daughter Anita Pauline Leyva.
A graveside service will be held Monday, May 4, 2020, at 10AM at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery in Woodrow, TX.
