Caden Byers

Caden Dillon Byers, age 21, of Lubbock, TX, went to be with Jesus on April 18, 2025.

Born on February 9, 2004, Caden lived his life with strength, loyalty, and a heart full of love.

Known for his kind spirit, steady hands, infectious laugh, and deep loyalty to the people he loved, Caden left a mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He worked with dedication and heart, always willing to step in and help wherever he was needed. His life was a testimony of perseverance, quiet strength, and unconditional love.

Caden is survived by his father, Michael Jon Byers Sr., and his bonus mom, Sarah Byers; his mother, Kelsey Richardson; his siblings, Kimberlee Byers, Ethan Byers, Seth Byers (and Chaelynn Roe), Skylah Byers, Bri Byers, and Michael Jon Byers Jr.; and his beloved nephew, Waylon Byers.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Lonny Richardson, Judy Foster, Christy and Neal Marchbanks; his aunt, Lindsey Richardson; his uncles, Jeremy Brown (Kellie Brown), Sid Sides (Shelah Sides), Michael Sides, and Matthew Sides (Abby Sides); and many cousins: Meredith Foster, Amy Newberry, Clay Newberry, Brenna Newberry, Keelin Slavinsky, Reed Slavinsky, Brett Slavinsky, Eddie Sides, Wesley Sides, Salicia Sides, Ellie Sides, Aiden Sides, Vanessa Sides, Trisha Sides, Atarah Sides, Ryker Sides, Lilly Sides, Edyn Sides, Willow Sides, and Malachi Sides.

Caden was preceded in death by his grandparents Tammi Richardson, Don Byers, Nida Byers, and James Sidney Sides Sr.

Caden loved his family and friends with a fierce and unwavering heart. His life was a living example of loyalty, resilience, and faithfulness to those he held dear.

Though his time here feels far too short, Caden’s legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of everyone he loved. His laughter, his strength, and his love will never be forgotten.

A gathering to honor and celebrate Caden’s life will be held at Cook’s Garage following this service at 6-9pm.

We will have a sunset burial Monday, April 28th at 7:30 at The Byers Clan Ranch in Childress, TX.
