Blanca Dalia Guerra Herron, 74, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Blanca’s life was a beautiful testament to faith, hard work, and family. Born in Edinburg, Texas, on September 17, 1951, to Epifanio De Jesus Guerra and Dionicia Ozuna Guerra, she grew up in a large, close-knit migrant family where she learned the values of resilience and determination early in life. Blanca pursued her passion for education, earning an Associate’s Degree in Child Development from South Plains College in 1980, and later, a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University in 2001 at the age of 50. Blanca dedicated her professional life to nurturing children and supporting families. She began her career at the Texas Tech Institute for Child and Family Studies (1983–1991) and spent nearly three decades serving West Texas communities through the South Plains Community Action Association’s Head Start Department (1991–2018). In 1977, she united with the love of her life, Tobe Herron III. Together, they shared 49 beautiful years and were blessed with five children. A devout Catholic and proud of her heritage, Blanca was a woman of unwavering faith. She loved listening to music, watching her favorite novelas, and shopping, but her greatest joy was her family. Whether going to family gatherings or eagerly jumping at the chance to travel with her children, she was always there for those she loved. For eight courageous years, Blanca battled Stage 4 kidney failure. Though the journey was difficult, her strength, infectious laugh, and profound love for her family never wavered. She held on gracefully, ensuring her family would be secure before she peacefully journeyed to her eternal home. Blanca's heart was always centered on those she loved. Her faith, courage, and love will forever be remembered and cherished by her friends and family. Blanca is survived by her husband Tobe Herron III, son Maurice David and Linsey Herron, daughter Krystal Sara Foster (Herron), son Marcus Leon Herron, and son Micah Tobe Herron, grandchildren: Mo, Jairon, Miya, Ava, Bishop, Skylar, Wynter, Samson, Jazlyn, Devon, Auviana, Brandon, Nashay; great-granddaughter: Dani Rose; and siblings Clara and Lee Gomez, and Gloria and Frank Morales. Blanca was reunited in heaven with her son Julius Earl Herron, parents Epifano De Jesus and Dionicia Guerra, siblings: Lupe and Chilo Guerra, Maria and Dionicio Guerra, Benito and Linda Guerra, Violia Guerra Sanchez, Johnny Gonzalez, and beloved nieces and nephews.
