Bettie Lopez

Betty Lopez, age 68, passed away surrounded by love. She was born on December 15, 1957 in Fieldton, Texas to Lalo and Janie Ortiz. She lived a life defined by compassion, faith, and a heart that gave endlessly to her family and those around her. Betty was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her two children a loving son and a cherished daughter and a treasured sister. Family was the center of her life and greatest blessings. She shared a beautiful and enduring marriage with her beloved husband Joe Y. Lopez whom she married on October 25, 1986 in Littlefield, TX. Their life together was built on love, loyalty, and deep devotion. Her greatest joy came from being with her husband and her two children whom she loved with her whole heart. Betty’s love was gentle yet powerful. It was felt in her words, her care, and her quiet strength. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love. A faithful Jehovah’s witness, Betty lived her life guided by strong faith, kindness and humility. She lovingly cared for her mother with patience and devotion, always placing others before herself. She shared an especially close and loving bond with her sister McKie whom she loved deeply and held close to her heart.

She is survived by her loving husband Joe Lopez, her children Jose Luis and Marianna Guana, her mother Janie Ortiz, and her siblings Miquela Gauna, Rebeccah Sawyer, Rachel Lopez, Diane Martinez, and Larry Ortiz. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews who meant so much to her and will carry her memory in their hearts always. Betty was preceded in death by her father Lulo Ortiz and her sister Aurora Ortiz and brother Edward Ortiz.

Betty will forever be remembered for here gentle spirit, her selfless heart, and the way she loved so deeply and completely. Although she is no longer with us, her love lives on through her family and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always remembered.
