Bernabe Ojeda

Bernabe Ojeda, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 8, 2022. He was the husband of Segunda Ojeda and the father of Ivan Naranjo, Pedro Ojeda, Maria Lara, Guadalupe "Woody" Ojeda, Carmelo Ojeda, Maria Antonia Ojeda de Franco, Sandra Pena, Mercedes Jacome, and Diego Ojeda. Bernabe and Segunda married on March 17, 1979, in Chicago, Illinois and shared 43 beautiful years together. Bernabe was born in Zapiguri, Durango to Isidro Ojeda and Maria del Refugio Cano de Ojeda. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather. He has 18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He worked as a landscaper bringing art and joy to many members of the community. He was a devout Christian and showed love and compassion to all he met. Bernabe had an infinite love for gardening and yard beautification, as he won yard of the month many consecutive months in a row. He will be remembered for being an amazing father, grandfather, and husband who cared for his family immensely. He was the strong foundation that created a tight family bond that will forever remain his legacy. The family would like to thank Interim Hospice for their care and compassion towards Bernabe and his family during his last day. The family would also like to thank the amazing doctors and nurses who cared for him at Lubbock Heart Hospital and his PCP for many years. Bernabe will forever be remembered for his enduring love, fighting spirit, and smiles he brought to everyone he met.

Funeral services will be held on September 12, 2022 at 2pm at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with Pastor Sam Medina officiating.
Visitation: September 11, 2022 from 3-9pm (prayer service at 7pm).
Burial: Lubbock Cemetery following funeral services.
Serving as Pallbearers: Ivan J. Naranjo, Ivan X. Naranjo, Pedro Ojeda, Alejandro Ojeda, Guadalupe "Woody" Ojeda, and Diego Ojeda.
