Benito P. Marquez

Benny Marquez,64 passed away on 6-4-2020 at covenant Hospital. He was the husband of Liz Puente Marquez, they got married on 9-25-1973 in Plainview, Tx and shared 47 years together. He was born on 12-30-1955 in Hale Center, Tx to Anucleto and Hilaria Marquez. He attended Petersburg ISD and was employed at Fox drilling until he became disabled. He was a member of Sacred Heart catholic church in Petersburg. Benny loved playing softball, golf and coaching Little League baseball. He also loved his Dallas Cowboys but most of all his granddaughter Isabel was his pride and joy and spending all his time with his great grand baby, Jacob Jr. He always enjoyed working on his yard and listening to the oldies on his radio and driving his 1969 blue demon.

We'll always remember, the crazy jokes and laughs he would tell us and how he enjoyed being around everyone.

Benny is survived by his wife, Liz, son, Timothy, granddaughter, Isabel (Jacob), and great grandson Jacob Jr. of Lorenzo, Tx, sister Carmen (John) Rodriguez, brothers, Jesse (Susie), David (Linda), Jimmy (Delma), of Petersburg, Tx, Cleto Jr (Anita) of Crosbyton, Tx, Noel (Berri) of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by, his daughter Sandy, parents, Cleto and Hilaria Marquez, and by his brothers Willie, John, and Ruben. Visitation will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Monday, June 8, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A graveside services will be held in the Petersburg Cemetery on Tuesday, June 9 beginning at 2:00 pm.
